Owings-Perdue House

"One of the architectural gems"--The New York Times

Built in 1970 on a bluff overlooking the Pacific, this house is a creation of the famed post-modernist architect, Charles Moore, whose work at The Sea Ranch contributed to his esteem. The house, internationally known as the "Shinefield House," is both magnificently modest, and modestly magnificent. From the master bedroom "tower", to the well appointed kitchen and stunningly situated dining room and raised living room with fireplace, to the TV and DVD room, to the very separate guest wing, the home has just been restored and behind-the-scenes modernized, yet keeps its flavor as one of the earlier Sea Ranch homes. Adding to the peace and privacy, the Sea Ranch bluff-top trail passes inland; nothing comes between you and the ocean. A beach and the Olson Ranch Recreation Center are a short stroll away.
